Three measurements, not one AI rank
- Storefront Readiness measures public crawler access, sampled structured product data, and description readability.
- Product Readiness measures one audited Shopify product’s field completeness using Admin API data.
- Observed AI Visibility records what defined providers returned for a saved buyer question at a recorded time.
These measurements inform different merchant actions and are not averaged into one universal score.
Coverage before confidence
Public scans display which weighted categories were available. Partial scans show observed points and coverage. Password protection, an unreachable storefront, or a scan with no weighted evidence returns no score rather than a false zero.
Product records that have not been audited show Not checked, not zero. Provider failures, timeouts, and excluded attempts remain unavailable evidence and do not enter the observed mention-rate denominator.
Evidence language
SkuWatch can state what its scan found, what appeared in a saved answer, whether a product page became easier to parse, or whether a later comparable check observed a new citation. It does not state that every shopper sees the same answer, that a readiness score is a ChatGPT ranking, or that one edit caused a recommendation or revenue change.
The full formulas and field weights are documented in Readiness scoring and AI Visibility measurement.
